Our First Class Community Deserves First Class Schools
It’s been more than a generation since we built a new school in District 1, and the time has come for our schools to catch up.
With nearly 16,000 students housed at 21 schools across the district, many of today’s schools were designed with yesterday’s class sizes in mind. We need our schools to meet the demands of progress.
When we Vote Yes, we’re making an investment in first-class schools for our children today and tomorrow.

Noted educator Neil Postman once said, “Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.” I agree with Mr. Postman. I believe that our children deserve the best education we can afford. This referendum will impact our entire community, and I believe it is the most important education issue we have faced in the last twenty-five years. |

Five Reasons to Vote Yes!
We have the opportunity to give our first class community the first class schools it deserves. Here are five reasons to Vote Yes on November 6th.
- We live in a first-class community and our children deserve first-class schools.
- Over 2,500 students are in portables that cost the District $1 million per year. These should be replaced with permanent classrooms that would be much more cost efficient.
- Some schools in our district don’t meet 2000 safety codes. New funds will replace old, unsafe schools with new, modern facilities.
- More classrooms will improve the student/teacher ratio and help educational standards.
- We need to build new schools to accommodate our growing population.
Our 16,000 students deserve first class schools.
On November 6th, let’s give them what they deserve and Vote Yes! |
